Institutional Character

The ACMPF is a higher education institution dedicated to the teaching of the Chinese and Spanish languages in Costa Rica and China. The Academy is committed to excellence in teaching, learning, and research in both languages—Chinese and Spanish—as well as in Eastern and Spanish-speaking cultures, and to the development of cultural exchange between the Eastern and Western worlds.

Foundation

The ACMPF is a higher education institution for the teaching of the Chinese and Spanish languages in Costa Rica and China. It was founded in 1989 by Academic Cristina Zheng Ma (Master’s Degree in Language Education).

Our Academy has more than 30 years of national and international experience, developing and effectively applying teaching methodologies for Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, and Spanish.

We are an academy accredited by educational authorities in both Costa Rica and China—including the Chinese Ministry of Education. Upon successful completion of all course levels, students obtain an official learning certification.

The Institute is headquartered in San José, Costa Rica, and Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, and enrolls more than 5,000 students annually, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional learners.

Academic Staff

Our academic faculty is composed entirely of native speakers and, most importantly, professionally trained educators, graduated from universities in China, Costa Rica, and the United States, holding various academic degrees in language teaching (Bachelor’s, Licentiate, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees).

ACMPF—which encompasses undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as academic bodies, research centers, and affiliated institutions—maintains a formal educational and cultural mission statement.

Camp Programs in China

An immersive educational camp experience in China

Our China Camp Program offers students a unique cultural and educational experience through immersive camps held in different regions of China. Participants have the opportunity to learn Mandarin, engage in cultural activities, and interact with local communities, all while developing global awareness and intercultural skills. The program combines language learning, guided excursions, and hands-on workshops in a safe and structured environment, allowing students to experience China beyond the classroom.

China Clic – Technology Donation Program

A technology program designed to promote digital access, innovation, and sustainable technological development.

The Technology Donation Program is an initiative designed to reduce the digital divide by providing technological tools, equipment, and innovative solutions to communities, educational institutions, and organizations in need. Through strategic partnerships with national and international entities, the program promotes equitable access to technology, supports digital transformation, and strengthens educational, productive, and social capacities, contributing to sustainable development and technological inclusion.

Language Scholarship Program

A language scholarship program empowering students to learn new languages and expand their global opportunities.

This language scholarship program provides access to high-quality instruction in Mandarin Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Korean. It is designed to support learners in developing multilingual communication skills, fostering academic growth, cultural understanding, and global opportunities. Through this program, students are empowered to broaden their horizons and participate confidently in an increasingly interconnected world.

International Conferences Program

An international conference program bringing together global experts and thought leaders

Our International Conference Program brings together experts, academics, and leaders from different countries to share knowledge, experiences, and global perspectives on key topics of contemporary impact. Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and intercultural dialogue, the program fosters the exchange of ideas, innovation, and international collaboration, enriching the academic and professional development of participants while promoting a global outlook.

Overseas operations/services

The Institute strategically leverages its resources to provide students and staff with a broad range of international study and work opportunities through cooperative projects that foster strong academic and professional development.

Since 2010, the Institute has established cooperative partnerships with numerous companies, institutions, and diplomatic agencies through commercial and inter-institutional agreements. In parallel, ACMPF designs and implements service-oriented programs aimed at professional support and development.
